Noah "helped" me make a dessert the other day, and I just thought I would pass along the recipe. It was a great one to do with kids (if you like to do that sort of thing with your little ones.) Most of the ingredients are sprinkled on which Noah could do (with guidance!)...make sure to set some aside for tasting. :) Obviously, some of your babes are a little too young, but maybe for the future?
Here is the recipe (it's a classic!) and some pictures:
Magic Cookie Bars
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup (6 oz pkg) butterscotch flavored chips
1 can (3 1/2 ounces) flaked coconut, or about 1 1/3 cups
1 cup chopped pecans
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350°.
Melt butter in a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over melted butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top evenly with remaining ingredients; press down firmly.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool magic cookie bars before cutting.
